The UFC has hosted events in most of the popular places in the world, but never in mainland China. The upcoming event UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs Gastelum will mark history as it will be the first ever UFC event in mainland China in Shangai on November 25th in Mercedes-Benz Arena. However, the organization has contested three events at Macau which is a special administrative region of the nation. This event will be headlined by former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping and Kelvin Gastelum who will fight in a five-round battle. Though many people prefer to watch the numbered UFC pay-per-view events, here are some reasons why you need to watch UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs Gastelum-

  • First ever UFC event in Mainland China

As mentioned earlier this would be the first ever UFC event in Mainland China. Therefore, this would attract a lot of Chinese fans out there and moreover would also help in developing the UFC’s brand popularity in the nation. This would also attract more Chinese MMA talents to try and perform in their home country.

  • First ever Indian born fighter’s debut

This event would mark another history as Bharat Khandare will be the first Indian-born to fight inside the UFC’s Octagon. Khandare trains at Jackson-Wink MMA Academy in USA and had amassed a record of five wins and two losses during his career. The Indian born will make his UFC debut in the bantamweight division when he will go one on one with China’s own Pingyuan Liu. Now with Indian fighters entering the Octagon after much wait, UFC has finally got an opportunity to crack into the Indian market.

  • Bisping’s last fight before his retirement fight in March

Michael Bisping recently announced his retirement after losing his title to Georges St Pierre at UFC 217. Following his loss he announced that he will be soon retiring from the sport after couple of fights. ‘The Count’ signed up to fight Kelvin Gastelum only 21days after his war with GSP, which would be his last fight before his retirement fight coming March. The former middleweight champion had stated that he signed up for his fight with Gastelum so as to bounce back from his loss to GSP.

  • First time ever as many as seven Chinese talents on a UFC card

When it comes to marketing fights UFC is the best at it. To win the hearts of the Chinese fans UFC has booked seven Chinese fighters to perform in the history making event in Shangai. These new talents could be the next Chinese stars if they put on spectacular performances. The UFC has done a brilliant job of putting together so many Chinese talents on one card which will impress and attract the Chinese MMA fans.

  • Bisping fights only after 21 days after he fought GSP

Bisping is one the toughest UFC fighters in the history of the sport with a record of highest wins inside the Octagon, twenty (tied with GSP) and there is no doubt that he is a future Hall Of Famer. In the past he has stepped up and taken fights on short notices and proved why he deserves to be in the UFC. After a hard fought battle with the returning Canadian superstar, GSP, Bisping lost his middleweight championship as he refused to tap to GSP’s Rear-Naked-Choke. Only few days later he signed up to fight Kelvin Gastelum at UFC’s event in Shangai which is to be hosted only three weeks after his fight with GSP. So it will be interesting to watch if he can fight off a hungry lion in Gastelum who himself is coming from a loss to Chris Weidman. Bisping came from a poor background so he knows that nothing is granted in this world without hard work.

  • 5 times Wushu Sanda Champion Muslim Salikhov is making his UFC debut-

The Russian Wushu legend is finally making his UFC debut after an impressive MMA career outside the UFC. His record inside the cage is 12-1, with 11 of his victories coming via knockout or submission. He is one of the only two Non-Chinese athletes to ever win the Wushu Sanda King’s cup. The Russian will make his UFC debut against Alex Garcia in a welterweight bout. It would be interesting to see Wushu skills put to use in a MMA fight inside the Octagon.
