Henry Cejudo has been proudly carrying the “underdog” label throughout his career. But in his last couple of outings, he has managed to show the world that underdogs can and do win.
The past Saturday night, Cejudo successfully defended not just his hard earned flyweight belt but also, possibly, the life of UFC’s lightest division amongst men. In a fight that lasted merely over half a minute, Cejudo stunned Dillashaw with strikes and knocked him out for a TKO victory.
Prior to this fight, Henry went toe-to-toe with the best pound for pound fighter in Demetrious Johnson, gaining a split decision victory. What was common between both the fights was that Cejudo was the lesser likely to be the winner in the eyes of the viewers.
The UFC couldn't make Demetrious vs. Dillashaw, and so Cejudo just went ahead and took care of them both.
