Despite being in, possibly, the worst aftermath of his professional career, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson has maintained his class act.
This past Saturday, Thompson was on the receiving ends of one of the most stunning knockouts in recent UFC history. With just 5 seconds left into the second round, Anthony Pettis leapt off of the cage to deliver a picture perfect superman punch to completely floor Thompson.
The knockout was the first one of Wonderboy’s run of 80 fights. However, despite this, he was all classy about his loss.

Hey everyone thank you for all of your prayers and support! Congrats to my man @showtimepettis ! You are a skilled fighter and a legend of the sport. As we all know it’s part of the game but it’s not always about how we win, it’s about what we learn from our losses that makes us better fighters and people. I will be back! Boyaahhh!!! #UFCNashville @UFC
Prior to this, Wonderboy had also gone live on Facebook, sharing his thoughts after being knocked out. The loss will provide a major setback for Thompson who was planning to fight in his home state of South Carolina in three months on UFC on ESPN+ 11.
