Suspended! NSAC gives both Khabib and Conor time on the shelf!

Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0) successfully defended his UFC lightweight championship against Conor McGregor (21-4) via fourth-round submission in the main event of UFC 229 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Eagle after his submission win, jumped through the cage and launching himself into the crowd. His intended target was Dillon Danis.

This post fight altercation let to three of Khabib’s team members getting arrested and Zubaira Thukhugov is looking at a potential release from the UFC. The NSAC, which sanctioned the bout, withheld Nurmagomedov’s fight purse.

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor are being suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Letters were sent Wednesday informing both fighters that they will be suspended for at least 10 days effective Oct. 15, commission executive Bob Bennett said Thursday.

A hearing is slated for Oct. 24. The commission will vote at that time whether the two should be indefinitely suspended pending results of the investigation.

UFC 229 was the biggest event in the history of UFC with PPV number trending around 2.4 million PPV buys.
