The mixed martial arts fandom hasn’t seen Tatiana Suarez in action for four years, but that is soon expected to change.

The undefeated wrestler, who has competed in the women’s strawweight division in the UFC, has been out of action since defeating Nina Nunes via unanimous decision at UFC 238 in June 2019.

She was due to make her comeback against Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 266 in September 2021 in her promotional flyweight debut, but pulled out due to a neck injury, which mostly has been the main reason behind Suarez’s lengthy layoff and there hasn’t been much conversation regarding her return.

All that being said, there has finally been some light on Suarez’s potential comeback, as she recently took to Instagram, revealing that she’s eyeing a return in February. While her last cancelled bout was supposed to be at 125, Suarez indicated that she’d be comfortable at both divisions.

“I think I have the skills to [be a two-division UFC champion],” Suarez had stated back in April, “I think people always say, ‘You have some of the best wrestling,’ or ‘You’re one of the best wrestlers out there. You could be one of the best.’”

“One-hundred percent, without a doubt in my mind, I am the best wrestler in women’s MMA,” she went on, “From featherweight to strawweight, I believe I could beat anyone in wrestling in terms of that skill set. I think that is something that can get me two belts just because I’m far ahead in that discipline,” she added.
