The successful campaign of Team Bahrain at the 2019 IMMAF World Championships continued this Wednesday (13) with a series of wins for the home athletes and an astonishing seven qualifications to Thursday’s semifinals.

In addition to the seven wins in the seniors’ tournament, Team Bahrain also made a huge impact in the Juniors World Championship, with two athletes winning their respective semifinals and making their way to Thursday’s Juniors finals. Murad Ibragimov, in the Flyweight division, and Murad Guseinov, in the welterweight division, will now represent Bahrain in search of the gold medal.

The results obtained by the Bahrain team are very important in order to help the national team maintaining the number one position in the IMMAF nations ranking. Currently, Bahrain tops the list with a succession of impactful results in the competitions calendar and multiple-medal campaigns.

The 2019 IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain will resume on Thursday (14) with the Seniors semifinals and the Juniors finals — the first chances of medals for the host nation. The competition will then be on hold for a day, while BRAVE 29 takes the stage for its yearly MMA extravaganza in Bahrain, and the Seniors finals will take place on Saturday (16), all at Khalifa Sports City.
