Team India wins 3 Silver and 4 Bronze medal at the GAMMA World Championship in Singapore

Team India ended the GAMMA world championship which took place in Singapore on a high note. Out of the total contingent of 21 fighters, 7 of them managed to secure a medal for India.

In the lightweight division, Sumit Bayan of Team Relentless won the silver medal after losing in the finals to Ilia Freimanov of Russia. In the strawweight category, Shivaraj won the Silver medal by defeating Lance Siah of Malaysia. Team India also won the Bronze medal in the strawweight category by the courtesy of Mandeep, who defeated Humberto Correia of France.

India Female fighters ruled supreme at the GAMMA world championships as they collectively won four medals.

Akshata Khadtare won the Bronze medal in the Atomweight category. Divya Nagaraj won the Silver Medal in the 160+ lbs weight category and Kiran Naik won the Bronze medal in the same weight class.

Priya Saini also won Bronze Medal in the strawweight division.

The world championship was organised by ONE championship in partnership with the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts. Teams from over 40 countries have been confirmed to participate in the tournament, including over 300 top amateur athletes and 100 coaches.
