Johan Ghazali’s name in the striking world stands for non-stop action and mouth-watering contests, no matter how long his fights last.
The 18-year-old Malaysian-American phenom will be back in the ring to face the durable Colombian-American striker Diego Paez at ONE Fight Night 32.
This pivotal flyweight Muay Thai bout will take place inside the fabled walls of Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand.
Ghazali has a knack for fast finishes. He began his ONE Championship journey with an astonishing 16-second knockout in February 2023. The young phenom now says that he is aiming for another finish.
“I’m coming for the knockout,” Ghazali said.
“I’m gonna put the pressure on. I’ve been training hard as hell, and it would be a shame for me not to put the pressure on, so I’m gonna make him feel it.”
Ghazali’s opponent, Paez, is as tough as they come. The 31-year-old Colombian-American gave Sean Climaco a serious challenge in his ONE debut, narrowly losing by split decision.
Meanwhile, “Jojo” has covered all the bases for his upcoming bout. Ghazali says that he is ready for war – whether it ends in a finish or a three-round barnburner.
“I sure hope he comes ready. He better come ready because I’m 100 percent committed to putting on a show and being ready,” Ghazali said. “If the knockout presents itself, then it will, but if not, I’m ready for three hard rounds.”
For this fight, Ghazali is honing his skills at striking legend Superbon’s gym and believes the power he has been working on will prevail.
“I know my power will prevail, but at the same time, despite my confidence, I won’t underestimate his power. Not that I’m respecting it or what, but I just would rather stay humble and see what comes my way in this fight,” Ghazali said.
