As MMA has grown, so has the coverage over it. At the same time, podcasts have
grown in popularity as well, so it is entirely logical that MMA podcasts have grown
over the last few years.

They are a great way to further enjoy the sport, to understand the characters in it and to get a peek behind the scenes before placing betting or if you’re just watching, so here is a list of some of the best MMA podcasts as of right now.

MMA, Podcast

UFC Unfiltered with Jim Norton and Matt Serra

Ex UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra and comedian Jim Norton combine to
make a podcast that pulls no punches. Nothing is of bounds in the Unfiltered podcast
as they talk about everything in the industry: other fighters, pre and post-fight
analysis, stories from Serra’s time and much more.

MMA Fighting

This podcast has three shows a week: “Between the Links”, “The A-Side Live Chat”
and “What the Heck”. The first show puts two journalists together to break down all
the MMA news of the week, the second show is a discussion of the hottest topics by
Jose Youngs and the third one is an interview show by Mike Heck.

The Fighter and the Kid

This podcast is hosted by former professional UFC fighter Brendan Schaub. He is
joined every week by a guest co-host and they talk about anything related to MMA in
an uncut and unedited conversation that can be enlightening, funny or ridiculous.

Fight Disciples

This podcast is delivered by Adam Catterall and Nick Peet and provides all the MMA
news of the time along with banter between the two. They continued to post
throughout the quarantine period and are some of the most entertaining podcasters
out there.

Ariel Helwani’s MMA show

Helwani is one of the main faces in MMA journalism as of right now and he is ruthless
in his interviewing style. The podcasts, which are often over three hours long, are
interviews of celebrities or athletes who are relevant at the time, sometimes having
just fought, about to fight or just in the news for any reason. One of his best is with
the legendary Connor McGregor.

The Joe Rogan Experience

This podcast, one of the most popular in the world, is not exclusively MMA related but
Rogan is a UFC commentator and knows his stuff. He also has a show where he
watches fights with some guests in a very relaxed environment. On his show he has
had some of the biggest athletes in the world and the biggest names in MMA,
including Kamaru Usman, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

Believe You Me with Michael Bisping

This podcast is hosted by legend Michael Bisping and Luis Gomez and a new
episode is released every week. It is a fascinating look into the life of a UFC
champion, but it also delves further than that, looking deep into parenting, life in
general and even in philosophy, as well as MMA news and stories from Bisping’s
career. Any Bisping fan would love this podcast.

MMA Junkie Radio

This podcast is about everything to do with MMA, including UFC, Bellator and other
top promotions. It features some of the biggest fighters, managers, promoters and
trainers in the world of MMA and covers some other combat sports as well. There are
two new episodes a week.

Submission Radio Australia

The biggest MMA podcast in Australia, this show features some of MMA’s biggest
names and all the news and commentary of the big fights and events. The show is
refreshing in that it is designed to bring the fighters closer to their fans in a fun and
relaxed environment and promoting MMA in the right way, with positivity.

Luke Thomas Live Chat and Podcast

The weekly podcast where experienced MMA podcaster Luke Thomas speaks his
mind about various topics throughout MMA. Former editor and guest on MMA
Fighting, he knows what a successful MMA podcast looks like, his analysis is
sensible and well thought out and it is a great podcast for MMA fans.

State of Combat with Brian Campbell

Brian Campbell, a CBS Sports insider, analyses all the latest news from the worlds of
MMA and boxing, with UFC Hall of Famer Rashad Evans and Rafe Bartholomew as
the respective hosts for each podcast. They give full event previews, big-name interviews and react to the biggest events and news in both worlds of combat sports
in an entertaining podcast.
