During his illustrious career, Brock Lesnar famously achieved the highest level in both the WWE and the UFC. It appears that his youngster has inherited his athletic prowess.

Medicine Hat, Alberta, is where the Tigers play. The elder Lesnar currently resides on a farm in Maryfield, Saskatchewan, but he was born in South Dakota. Since Saskatchewan and Alberta are close by, young Lesnar won’t have to travel far to join the WHL squad.

In the UFC, Brock Lesnar has left a lasting legacy

Brock Lesnar, a two-time NCAA All-American, began his athletic career on the wrestling mats. Later, he moved to the WWE ring, where fans embraced him because of his incredible size and extraordinary athleticism. He declared his intention to switch to mixed martial arts (MMA) after experiencing tremendous success as a member of the WWE roster. He didn’t immediately enter the UFC, though.

Lesnar turned to Japan instead, and in 2007 he signed with Hero’s, K-1’s MMA banner. He was originally scheduled to face fellow big Hong Man Choi in his MMA debut, but Min Soo Kim, a Korean, ended up becoming his opponent. In the first round, he defeated Kim.

He only had to do that to catch UFC executives’ notice. He debuted with the promotion in 2008.

Lesnar actually lost his first UFC fight, suffering a submission loss to Frank Mir. However, he then went on a brief reign of terror. First, he brutalized Heath Herring to a decision win. Next, he battered Randy Couture to a stoppage to claim the UFC heavyweight in just his fourth pro MMA fight. He then defended his belt with a quick TKO in a rematch with Mir, and then with a submission against Shane Carwin.

Lesnar lost the belt to Cain Velasquez, one of the best heavyweights ever, in 2010. He fought twice more before hanging up his MMA gloves for good. First, he lost by TKO to former kickboxing champ Alistair Overeem. Later, he defeated Mark Hunt by decision, only to have the verdict overturned when he failed a drug test.

Despite his late-career losses and steroid scandal, he has set the bar very high for any athletes in the Lesnar family. Time will tell how far his son Duke can go on the ice.
