A whole year and a half since its original booking, the fight between Darren Till (18-4-1) vs. Jack Hermansson (22-7) is now confirmed to be heading for UFC Fight Night 212 event set to take place in London on 23rd July, which will see Till making his comeback from injury on home soil.

Till vs Hermansson was originally scheduled to take place back on 5th December 2020 as the main event of UFC Vegas 16 but was later dropped due to Till pulling out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury. The Liverpudlian was first replaced by Kevin Holland, who was later replaced by Marvin Vettori and the latter defeated Hermansson via unanimous decision. After initial reports made by MMANytt.se and MMA Junkie, the fight is now confirmed to be on the undercard of UFC Fight Night 212.

“The Gorilla”, ranked 8th in the UFC middleweight rankings, has had only one fight since then, losing to Derek Brunson in the main event of UFC Vegas 36 on 4th September last year, which is his fourth defeat in his last five appearances in the Octagon.

On the other hand, Hermansson returned after the Vettori defeat with a unanimous decision victory over Edmen Shahbazyan at UFC Vegas 27 on 22nd May last year, followed by a split decision loss against Sean Strickland at UFC Vegas 47 on 5th February. Nicknamed “The Joker” the Swede is currently ranked 7th in the UFC middleweight rankings.

The main event of UFC London in July will see a heavyweight clash between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes. Former UFC Light Heavyweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson will take on former Fight Night Global Light Heavyweight Champion Nikita Krylov. A flyweight bout between Muhammad Mokaev and Charles Johnson is also added to the undercard.
