Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz are for sure eternal rivals and are two of the most important athletes in not only the UFC’s but also the sports’ history as well. Their fierce rivalry helped in shaping up the UFC’s light heavyweight division alongside Randy Couture as well. Ortiz and Liddell are part reasons behind the UFC and MMA successfully gaining popularity across the globe, and garnering plenty of mainstream media attention. They locked horns with each other twice before and at the beginning of the this year, both men were peacefully retired as well. However, they are now scheduled to face each other in a rubber match to end their trilogy. Thus, Liddell recently promoted their upcoming fight by doing an open workout for the media and some of his fans. However, in a rather unexpected turn of events, his opponent, Ortiz showed up as well to attend Liddell’s workout session.
Liddell last fought a little more than eight years ago, at UFC 115 losing the fight via KO to Rich Franklin. On the other hand, Ortiz last competed in Jauray, 2017, winning his fight against Chael Sonnen via a rear-naked choke. It should be noted that Liddell won both their previous bouts via brutal knockouts.
While Liddell was busy showcasing his skills to members of the media, Ortiz was constantly verbally heckling him with taunts and insults. Ortiz believed Liddell was much slower and definitely older.
