TJ Dillashaw welcomes ambitious move up to 145 to take on ‘slow’ Max Holloway

After denying its possibility for a long time, the UFC has now turned into multiple champ mode. Conor Mcgregor did it first in Nov. ’16 followed by Daniel Cormier in July ’18 and the latest by Amanda Nunes in Dec. ’18. But with crowning of double champs becoming more common occurrences, Dillashaw now has his eyes on becoming the first triple champ in UFC.

T.J. hinted the same in his Instagram post a couple of days back. While appearing on The Luke Thomas Show reiterated the same. Dillashaw told Thomas that he thinks Holloway is too slow at 145 pounds. However he was appreciative of the fact that Max has an impressive resume to boast about and a win streak that’s one of the best in the UFC right now.

When asked about the possibility of a fight with Holloway here’s what Dillashaw’s coach “Bang” Ludwig told MMA Junkie. “I think that would be more of a challenge to go up in weight than it has been to go down in weight,” said Ludwig. “TJ is not a big bantamweight anyway. Going up in weight, that’s when we’ll see more change. I assume he would become possibly a little slower, but have more power. But we’ll see what ends up happening if that’s the journey for us. Right now we’re focused on the task at hand.”
