Aspinall, who was thoroughly impressed by Khamzat Chimaev’s victory, shared his thoughts during an interview with Red Corner MMA. He stated, “The guy is incredible, absolutely incredible. To do that to Rob Whittaker, honestly it just inspires me to be better. Because you go in there and dominate a former champion like that, that easy, without taking any shots. Being completely one-sided. Inspiring man, the guy is incredible… He’s definitely gonna be a champion.”
Khamzat Chimaev’s win not only silenced his detractors but also made new fans, including Aspinall. The Chechen-born fighter’s performance has put the entire middleweight division on notice, and Aspinall believes Chimaev will soon become the next middleweight champion.
