Tommy Fury defeats Jake Paul in Saudi showdown - ABC News

In a split decision, Tommy Fury emerged victorious, handing Jake Paul his first professional loss. The win wasn’t without controversy, but it etched Tommy’s name into boxing lore. However, the victory was short-lived. Tommy’s injured hand forced him into surgery, delaying any immediate rematch.

Meanwhile, Jake Paul continues to polarize the boxing community. His recent 1st round knockout victory over Ryan Bourland on March 2nd raised eyebrows. Critics argue that the fight lacked competitiveness and even former UFC champion Michael Bisping didn’t mince words. Jake’s momentum is undeniable, but Tommy Fury aims to halt it.

A Grudge Rematch in the Making

As “TNT” heals, his hunger for redemption intensifies. Speaking to EzeTalksSports at the Joshua vs. Ngannou press conference in Saudi Arabia, he expressed his eagerness to step back into the ring.

“I mean I’m injured at the minute as you can see by the knuckle. As soon as that gets better, I’d love to get out here myself.” said Fury. “I’m itching seeing all these guys on the chairs, I just want to be in there myself. But injuries happen and it’s a tough thing to come through but we’re all on the right lines and the recovery is going well.”

“I don’t know [what’s next]. I don’t know mate, me and Jake Paul we’ve got to run it back you know,” he went on, “I want to knock him out this time. He’s getting too much momentum again. So, I reckon we’re going to tend to that…”

When asked about KSI, who called for a rematch after their initial bout, Tommy dismisses it outright.

“I mean if [KSI] wants to come and fight this time maybe [it could happen again]. But star jumps don’t win you fights mate.” [H/T BJPenn.com]

As Tommy Fury’s knuckles heal, the boxing world braces for a seismic collision. Jake Paul, the provocateur, versus Tommy Fury, the determined warrior. The stakes are higher, the tension thicker. Will Tommy’s vow to defeat Jake Paul again come to fruition? Only time—and the squared circle—will reveal the answer.
