Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has called out the former two-division UFC champion Conor Mcgregor. This isn’t the first time Tony has called out Mcgregor. After winning the interim title at UFC 216 Tony Ferguson went on to call out Conor Mcgregor who was then UFC lightweight champion. That fight was never been discussed as both the fighters drifted away in their career. Conor went on to have a shot in boxing whereas Tony build up an amazing winning streak. Both the fighters are facing a downfall in their career. So maybe now the fight between Mcgregor and Ferguson could make sense to the UFC matchmakers considering the form they both have been in recent times.

Conor McGregor vs Tony Ferguson fight makes sense

Conor Mcgregor last fought against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The fight was won by Dustin Poirier via TKO as the doctor waved off the fight. Conor broke his ankle by the end of the first round. The injury was caused even before the fight, during his training for the fight. Conor later went through surgery and said that he will be back in the octagon soon.

Conor is now recovering from his surgery he in the last interview stated that he is ready to kick again but according to the doctor he will be fine by December. So Conor at the moment is planning to make his comeback to the octagon in 2022.

Tony Ferguson is going through a rough patch as he is riding a three-fight losing streak. He was targeted to face Khabib at UFc 249 but due to travel restrictions, that fight got canceled for the fifth time. Khabib was then replaced by Justin Gaethje. Justin gave Tony a beating as he destroyed him for five rounds before finishing him. That fight ended Tony’s 12 fight winning streak. He then went on to lose another fight against Charles Oliveira. Tony is now coming off a decision loss against Beneil Dariush. So for Tony Ferguson the Conor Mcgregor fight completely makes sense.
