In a mouth-watering contest, former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson is all set to fight Donald Cerrone at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois at UFC 238 this weekend.
Before the announcement of this fight, Tony Ferguson parted ways with Paradigm management agency which had represented El Cucuy for the most part of his career. The reason for Ferguson leaving Paradigm was a conflict of interests as the agency also represents former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor.
“I’m not going to talk about them too much,” Ferguson told MMA Junkie in an interview. “It’s like a brother thing to me. I tried to give them chances. For four years, I knew this (expletive) was going down the way it was. But I needed a couple of people to tell me exactly and to convince my wife that (expletive) was going down the way it was.
“I’m not going to say they owe me money, or I owe them money, but I’m pretty sure it’s the other way around.”
Tony left Paradigm sports management agency and signed with Ballengee Group which also represents a number of MMA fighters across different promotions. The most important part about his deal with the new management company is that they don’t represent any UFC lightweight fighter who is a direct competitor to Tony Ferguson.
