Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson may not have locked horns as fighters, but the two are now expected to go against one another as coaches, as “El Cucuy” claims he’s offered to coach on The Ultimate Fighter against McGregor.
I’ve Been Asked To Coach On TUF Against Ol’e Fathead: Tony Ferguson
As the mixed martial arts fandom awaits his return, McGregor recently showed interest in coaching TUF once again. The last time “The Notorious” appeared as a coach was back in 2015 at TUF 22 against Urijah Faber.
Now, as he completes his rehab from the leg fracture from 2021, McGregor believes the TUF coaching will benefit in his recovery before he returns to the fight game.

It was right before I won my first world title beating urijah team mate chad mendes around. I then went on to coach the famous fight show straight after the fight. With a big black eye and a gash, my tricolor, and my new and first ever ufc gold belt, I waltzed into the notorious fight gym in Las Vegas. The slickest suits and shouts the show had ever seen before. On top of the silverware. And I coached my team to victory. Crazy. Some journey. I have just been offered to coach this role again. I like it. It is full immersion which is needed. I see fighters lining up. I know whats ahead I been ready motherfuckers. #StayReady,” McGregor’s Instagram post read.
Soon after the announcement of his upcoming TUF coaching stint, speculations came forth as who McGregor will be coaching against. While names like Jorge Masvidal or Michael Chandler were brought up, Tony Ferguson broke the ice on Thursday, stating on Twitter that he’s been offered the coaching spot against Mystic Mac.
