Former WBC heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and former six-division champion Roy Jones Jr went back and forth at each other at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
The highly entertaining eight-round scrap ended in a draw.
Mike Tyson landed heavy shots to Roy Jones Jr’s body throughout the fight and clipping him hard with his right hand. Tyson came in an incredible shape as even at the end of the fight, he was going hard and showed no signs of gassing out. However, Roy Jones started breathing heavily from the fourth round itself.
Roy Jones Jr would grab Tyson into a flinch and land few shots in between them, But overall, it was a dominant performance by Mike Tyson and showed that he still got it in him at the age of 54.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
That wasn’t a draw, but if Tyson is cool with it, I am too. Goodnight! #TysonJones

Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. fight to a draw.
That’s according to the WBC’s unofficial judges (CSAC didn’t score it) Christy Martin, Vinny Pazienza and Chad Dawson.
“I’m good with it,” Tyson says.

Roy Jones’ style was built on his overwhelming speed advantage. Mike Tyson’s style was built to overcome his size disadvantage as a short heavyweight. Roy is considered the “boxer” here, and in his prime was better pound for pound, but Mike is actually the more technical fighter.

Really enjoyed that. Much better than the cynics feared. Huge credit to both men. Takes real guts to get back in the ring in your 50s & they both got in great shape & acquitted themselves incredibly well.
For me, @MikeTyson won, easily.. he looked so fit! Amazing. 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/rwUmzAqxhu— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 29, 2020
