In what was one of the dullest middleweight title fights in history, Israel Adesanya successfully defended his title. Adesanya defeated Yoel Romero in a lackluster fight in the main event of UFC 248.
Romero didn’t engage with Adesanya in the fight. The Cuban star tried to play little tricks inside the cage waiting to bait the Kiwi, but Adesanya didn’t budge.
Instead, Israel Adesanya used his leg kicks to put significant damage on Romero’s leg. By the time the fight end Romero was limping around the cage.
“It was a hard fight,” Adesanya said during the post-fight press conference. “But — cliche — I did what I had to do. Look at his leg. I fucked his leg up … He plays the game and lulls. He does all this (dancing) and lulls you into a false sense of security.”

Women’s MMA made the men look terrible at #UFC248 – the ferocity and competitiveness of Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk really put Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero to shame. pic.twitter.com/pXGviqYyWO

Romero actually just stunk the joint out, barely throwing a punch and then bitches about a lack of action in his interview after? 😂
I threw more punches from the sofa mate. Spunked his final title shot right up the wall #UFC248

Yoel Romero came out and dictated the pace of the fight from the get go with his total lack of offensive output and slow pace. The fact that he lectured us about the lack of action in that fight is hilarious. His total lack of self awareness is amazing. #UFC248
