Tyson Fury, the charismatic British heavyweight boxer known as the “Gypsy King,” recently broke his silence following his split-decision defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. Despite suffering his first professional loss, Fury remains adamant that he won the fight and that the outcome was a result of the bout being “too easy.”

Tyson Fury Opens up on His Fight With Usyk

The historic showdown took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Tyson Fury and Usyk battled for the undisputed world heavyweight championship. Usyk, the Ukrainian southpaw, emerged victorious by a narrow margin, unifying the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBF titles. It was a clash that boxing fans had eagerly anticipated for years.

In an exclusive interview with FUROCITY, Fury shared his candid thoughts on the fight:

“I’ve watched the fight back lots and still got the same answer – I thought I won. Usyk knows he didn’t beat me… I thought I boxed the head right off him for most of the rounds. He busted my nose in round eight, got the 10-8 in round nine and I gave him round ten. But other than that I didn’t give him any other rounds… It was actually a lot easier than I thought it’d be.”

“People said he’s hard to hit, I was lighting him up with four-punch combinations and laughing at him. My problem was I probably had too much fun. It was too easy. It was like I was in there with a local amateur boxer. I was enjoying it too much, messing around and paid the ultimate price in round nine.”

Rematch on the Horizon

Despite the setback, Tyson Fury remains resilient. He vowed to win back his title in the upcoming rematch scheduled for December 21. Usyk, who reportedly suffered a broken jaw and eye socket during their first encounter, will face the determined Gypsy King once again in what promises to be a Christmas extravaganza in Saudi Arabia.

As the boxing world eagerly awaits the rematch, one thing is certain: Tyson Fury’s confidence and flair will be on full display as he seeks redemption.
