Whenever we talk about the controversy surrounding UFC 232, we only talk about Jon Jones. However, there is another name that deserves to be under the limelight: Alexander Gustafsson.
While UFC decided to move the entire fight card from Las Vegas to California just to accommodate Jon Jones, almost all of the fighters that were on the card had to make many sacrifices. Gustafsson is perhaps on top of this list.
First, Gustafsson was bombarded by the news of his opponent getting tested positive and then, he learned that he had to fight Jones despite the positive result. Altogether, it would’ve been an emotional roller coaster ride for the Swedish star.
And now, to make matters worse, he has to spend the rest of the fight week in an Airport hotel in California. According to Ariel Helwani, Gustafsson and his team had rented out a luxurious hotel in Las Vegas which had to be vacated due to the change in venue. You can see the tweet from Helwani below.
Also, I’m told Gustafsson was staying in a very luxurious house in Vegas that his team rented a while back, and had been there for a week already, and is now staying at an airport hotel near LAX in LA. https://t.co/cakaeNfr1A
