With his first UFC win early this year, the former World Series of Fighting/Professional Fighters League champion Blagoy Ivanov faced yet another tough competition as he faced the hard hitter from down under Tai Tuivasa. The main event card opener between these heavyweights went the distance with both the big boys slugging it out until they were completely worn out. Blagoy scored big when he knocked Tuivasa down early in the first round, but failed to capitalize the opening which made the Australian come back with aggression. Tuivasa landed multiple inside leg kicks that restricted Blagoy’s movement but in the process kept on eating some heavy blows. Utilizing his sambo skills, Blagoy took down Tuivasa and attempted submitting him but he was saved by the bell. With this win, Blagoy is now on a two fight win streak, while Tuivasa has now lost two in a row.
