UFC 263 took place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, and was headlined by Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori fighting for the UFC middleweight championship, the event did 500k PPV buys in the USA.

According to John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal, UFC 263 sold 500,000 PPVs on ESPN+ in the United States. It’s reported to have done over 600,000 globally.

UFC 263 was headlined by Israel Adesanya defending his middleweight title in a rematch against no.3 ranked Marvin Vettori. The duo first fought in 2018. In their first fight, Israel outstrike him and was slightly ahead of him in the entire fight. Adesanya went on to win the fight won via split decision. From that moment their fighting oaths were changed. Israel went on to become the middleweight champion and Vettori fought his way to the title shot.

In the rematch, Vettori managed to take Adesanya down for a brief moment but couldn’t keep doing that for the entire fight. On the other hand, Israel did the same as he did in their first fight and kept on winning by point fight style. Izzy won the fight via Unanimous Decision with 50-45, 50–45, 50–45 scorecards.

In the co-main event at UFC 263, Brandon Moreno fought Deiveson Figueiredo for the UFC flyweight championship. This was a rematch after their first fight at UFC 256, which ended in a majority draw with Figueiredo retaining his title. The first fight was back and forth war, whereas the second turned into a one-sided fight where Brendon Moreno just took over the fight since the first round and Figueiredo couldn’t even get going. Moreno submitted Deiveson to become the first-ever Mexican-born UFC champion.

Another fight on the UFC 263 card which made this card a historic one was the fight between Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz. This fight was the first-ever non-title non-main event five-rounder fight. Leon was ahead in this fight since the first round and was looking better than Nate in each aspect of the fight. Nate had some significant moments but was cut and leading from several parts of his face. The most important moment in the fight came at the very last minute of the fight as Nate rocked Leon and he was hurt bade. Nate tried all his best but could not get the finish. Leon went on to win the fight via decision.

Now UFC is getting ready for possibly the biggest PPV of this year as UFC’s biggest superstar Conor Mcgregor takes on Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 10.
