UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira and former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will collide for a second time in the main event of UFC 287.
In their encounter at UFC 281, Pereira emerged victorious with a late comeback TKO, winning the title in the process. Additionally, Pereira has defeated Adesana twice in the kickboxing ring, including a decisive knockout victory in their second meeting. Adesanya will now work to eventually defeat his competitor and reclaim the championship in an effort to rewrite the history of their rivalry.
In the co-main event, Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal square off; both fighters have previously challenged for the welterweight belt. Burns is the clear favourite to win, but Masvidal has stunned the world before and will try to pull off the unexpected in front of his Miami home crowd.
On the earlier portion of the main show, welterweight action fighter Kevin Holland will face experienced striker Santiago Ponzinibbio, while quickly rising bantamweight striker Adrian Yanez will face longtime rival Rob Font.
The opening fight on the main event is another bantamweight contest between Christian Rodriguez and unbeaten contender Raul Rosas Jr.
