One of the biggest and most exciting fights of the year is now less than a day away, as mixed martial arts fans from across the globe get ready to witness two of the most rugged and gritty names in the fight game, Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira, battle it out for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight championship this Saturday, 11th November in the main event of UFC 295 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The fight will mark the much awaited return of “BJP”, the former 205-pound champ, back to the Octagon nearly after one and a half year, after a major injury to his right shoulder last year which put him out of action and forced him to vacate his title as well. Prochazka was last seen in action against Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 back in June last year when he clinched the light heavyweight gold. A rematch with Teixeira was scheduled for UFC 282 in December but was later called off due to his shoulder injury.

Prochazka will face another former champion in ALex Pereira, the former UFC Middleweight champion, ready to make his second appearance in the division. After losing the 185-pound belt to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 in April, Pereira jumped up to 205 and made his divisional debut against Jan Błachowicz at UFC 291 in July, winning the fight via split decision.

An interim heavyweight championship between Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich will also take place on the undercard of UFC 295 as the co-main event. UFC women’s strawweight star Mackenzie Dern will also be in action against former divisional champion Jessica Andrade.
