Stipe Miocic might have the odds heavily against him for the upcoming Jon Jones clash at UFC 295, but the former two time UFC heavyweight champion is untroubled by the fact and believes there’s some things up in his sleeves that Jones needs to worry about.
Bet against me, you’re going to waste some money: Stipe Miocic
Miocic and Jones will lock horns in the main event of UFC 295 this 11th November, with Jones’ heavyweight gold at stake. The fight will mark Miocic’s comeback since the loss to Francis Ngannou in their rematch at UFC 260 back in March 2021.
Having won 15 out of his 20 UFC fights via knockout, Miocic opined during a recent interview with BetOnline.ag that his punching power is being disregarded in the fight against Jones.
“Throwing bombs, having fun, and just do what I do, bring the fight,” said Miocic. “I think (Jones needs to worry about my) speed, my angles. I think punching power. I hit a lot harder than people think. And then I think I have great IQ. I always change it up and when something happens, I figure a way out.”
“It took me a couple fights, but after a while, I just stopped caring what everyone thought,” he went on, “I just don’t care anymore. You think I’m going to lose? Good for you. You’re going to waste a lot of money now. (If) you’re going to bet against me, you’re going to waste some money. Sorry for that, but on to the next.” [H/T MMA Junkie]
