The Hardest Hitter: Alex Pereira or Ngannou
When it comes to raw power, one name stands above the rest: Francis Ngannou. Known as ‘The Predator’, Ngannou held the record for the strongest recorded punch in history for a really long time. During a test at the UFC Performance Institute in 2018, ‘The Predator’ delivered a monstrous punch that registered 129,161 units on the PowerKube.
However, this video shows Pereira’s score of 191,796, which makes him the hardest hitter on the PowerKube. In the past, former interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall tried his hands at the machine. But was miles away from matching Francis Ngannou’s record-breaking score on the PowerKube machine. Tom could only score 45000.
Machine vs The Octagon
Ngannou’s power is not just theoretical. He has demonstrated his devastating punching power in the Octagon, finishing his last four opponents (in the UFC) in a combined total of 162 seconds. His knockout power was on full display when he dethroned former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 260.
Alex too has done some remarkable KOs in the UFC but if we look at the performance inside the octagon, it doesn’t even come close to the dominance of Francis.
