UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier created history when he defeated the UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic to become only the second man to hold titles in two different weight classes at the same time. Cormier then went on to call-out and have an inside the octagon altercation with former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. This altercation certainly hinted that DC will be staying at heavyweight to fight Lesnar. This has led to top light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson feeling frustrated.
Gustafsson feels Cormier should either defend the light heavyweight title against him or vacate the title. Here’s what he told Luke Thomas on The MMA Hour:
It’s all up to him. He can’t sit on his throne and decide who he fights or who he’s not going to fight, if he does that he should just let it go because I want that belt, that’s all I’m focused on after the Volkan fight. He can either fight me or let the belt go, that’s the only thing I’ll say.
