UFC: Alexander Volkov talks about his big win vs Werdum,wants the title shot next at UFC’s first visit in Russia

Alexander ‘Drago’ Volkov shocked the O2 Arena when he brutally knocked out former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum into sleep in London.

Volkov extends his win streak to four.Coming in to the fight Volkov was #8 ranked Heavyweight and Werdum was #3 ranked Contender.

The first started with Werdum landing on of his trademark flying kicks as he did in his fight vs Travis Browne.Werdum quickly shot for a takedown having Volkov on his walk and quickly started working with punches.After being on his back,Volkov managed to scramble up and unloaded a barrage of punches on Werdum.Werdum managed the storm and established another takedown on Volkov to end the first round.

Round two begins and Werdum quickly tries another takedown only to get shrugged by .Werdum landed a kick but Volkov caught it throwing Werdum on the ground.Werdum again gets the takedown and round two ends.Things changed in the third round when Volkov tagged Werdum dropping him,Werdum starting to have problems with his eye.In the first round,Volkov lands a punch to hand himself the biggest win of his career.

Speaking about it at the post-fight conference,Volkov when asked how does it feel said he feels happy,feels like winner.(via YouTube):

When asked about his further plans,he expressed his desire to fight at UFC’s visit in Russia this September. Volkov said he wants the title shot no matter what and is ready to wait as he defeated the former champ and the fighter who beat the current champ.

When asked how according to him would the superfight between UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier vs Light heavyweight king Daniel  Cormier.Volkov said he does not care about the fight anybody wins has can couch.Volkov will use his normal striking.

Lastly Werdum was asked why was he feeling uncomfortable before the fight.He answered when you face someone you admire and that stage of your life where you fmget a steeping stone for your career.

Werdum and Volkov were both training partners.
