On September of 2017, Arjan Bhullar created history by becoming the first Indian to sign with the world’s most premier MMA organization, i.e UFC. He made his debut against Luis Henry Barboza de Oliviera at UFC 215 headlined by Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko. Bhullar won his fight his spectacular fashion via wide unanimous decision. Although he had to suffer a setback in his last fight against Adam Wieczorek, where he was submitted via omaplata. A loss in Bhullar’s last fight hasn’t hit his confidence as he promised to bounce back from his loss and quest to the top.
This incredible journey wouldn’t have been possible without his coach Javier Mendez who has guided Bhullar since the beginning and helped him develop his skills.
Bhullar took to Twitter to thank his coach and showed his respect by posting a heartwarming message which showed, how big of a respect he has for his coach.
Had a great lunch with team AKA founder and head coach @akajav. This guy has welcomed me with open arms since the day I stepped into his gym and has built an army of champions over the years. We will continue to work together on the quest to the top @ufc#grateful #TeamBhullar pic.twitter.com/Vsaum8MBSX
