Artem Lobov will make his return to the Octagon against Zubaira Tukhugov at UFC Moncton on 27 October. This will be his first fight after staying inactive for over a year.
Meanwhile, his opponent Tukhugov who is also a teammate of Khabib Nurmagomedov will make his return to the Octagon after two-years as he was serving a two-year suspension for testing positive for the banned-substance ostarine.
It’s an interesting matchup and could have served a perfect undercard fight for the super fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor s Tukhugov is Khabib’s gym partner and Lobov is McGregor training partner and they both train out of Straight Blast Gym in Ireland.
Artem Lobov has lost back-to-back decisions to Cub Swanson and Andre Fili in his last two fights and this is a must win fight for him as his UFC contract could be at stake.
UFC Fight Night 138 in Moncton is due to be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between Volkan Oezdemir and Anthony Smith.
