UFC: B.J. Penn vs. Ryan Hall announced for UFC 232

UFC Hall of Famer, former lightweight and welterweight champ and legendary B.J. ‘The Prodigy’ Penn is back!

However, this time around at lightweight as he takes on BJJ maniac and TUF 22 winner Ryan Hall (6-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) at UFC 232 on December 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Penn (16-12-2 MMA, 12-11-2 UFC) is on a five fight losing streak and hasn’t fought since June last year after a unanimous decision loss tu veteran Dennis Siver.

Penn made his much anticipated return after three years in January last year since his loss against Frankie Edgar. Penn was scheduled to take on rising prospect Yair Rodriguez. Penn landed only a total of 4 significant strikes before landing on the canvas courtesy of a front kick, losing the bout via TKO in the second round. Penn after his loss to Siver did hint retirement however mentioned that he’ll be back depending upon the matchup.

Hall on the other hand hasn’t stepped inside the octagon since two years as well. Hall last fought veteran Gray Maynard at TUF season 24 finale in December 2016. He won the bout via unanimous decision.
