The UFC’s bantamweight division is super stacked than it ever was. The contenders lined up could be a threat to reigning champion T.J. Dillashaw. However, one of them is not happy about the top portion of the bantamweight division.
Surging contender and #10 ranked Cody Stamann (17-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) feels the top tier of the division has a “logjam”. Stamann used the term with respect to past title fights featuring either current champ T.J. Dillashaw or former champs Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt. The trio of fighters have all fought each other in a title shot.
“Let’s fight and find out who the best guy is instead of sticking around one year and waiting for that shot,” Stamann told MMAjunkie.
Stamann understands that it would require some time for him to be in the title discussion however hopes that this logjam is cleared.
“I think by the time I’m ready to be in that conversation, they’ve got this logjam cleared up,” he said.
