Belal Muhammad secured a unanimous decision victory at UFC Utica. Prior to his fight, he had earned praise for picking up the fight as it came in the Ramadan month. While most fighters choose to sit out during the period, Belal chose to step into the cage and still managed to walk out with a win.
After the fight, he was interviewed by MMA Junkie where he opened up about his faith in God and how other fighters try to find an edge by turning into steroids.
“Everybody’s out here always looking for an edge, and I feel like me not drinking or eating during training in the morning and having to push it, just takes me to a whole other level than these guys. Everybody’s out here looking for the next best supplement, what’s the right steroid to take. Me, I’m getting my strength from my spirituality. From God,” he said.
With the win, Belal is now 14-2 in his career and is on a four-fight winning streak as well.
