It should be noted that tomorrow’s fight night event will take place behind closed doors due to the worldwide looming threat of the Coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday the Governor Ibaneis Rocha declared that there will be no public gatherings of any kind due to the ongoing current international health crisis. This had led to some speculation that the UFC might even cancel the event altogether. However, news media outlet Combate reported later on Thursday that the event will now be behind closed doors.

Even the officials from the arena stated that they will comply with the Brazilian government’s orders, “Arena BSB informs that became aware of a decree from the Government of the Federal District that restricts public access to sporting and cultural events, and awaits specific positioning regarding the events scheduled for this Saturday: UFC and [a soccer match]. It also clarifies that it will follow all official regulations in order to collaborate with the maintenance of public health,” they said.
