UFC Featherweight contender Brian Ortega is an extremely game individual.
In a TMZ interview they both recently did, legendary Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer describes Ortega as one of the few guys who will literally fight any opponent – much like the man who will stand opposite him in the Octagon at UFC 222, Frankie Edgar.

And like he goes on to say, borrowing from Ric Flair’s famous catchphrase, to be a legend in MMA, you have to beat a legend.
While Ortega agrees with Buffer on all counts and is thankful for the opportunity to be fighting a legend like Frankie Edgar at UFC 222, the real curveball in the interview comes when the TMZ anchor Van asks Ortega if he will fight ‘Geraldine Ellis.’
And when Ortega asks him which weight class (s)he belongs to, Van fires back saying that his grandmother.
However, Ortega immediately shoots back asking ‘how much money we getting paid?’.

Brian Ortega stepped up to take a 4-week notice fight against Frankie Edgar at UFC 222 after Featherweight Champion Max Holloway pulled out of what was supposed to be a Title fight due to an ankle injury.
However, instead of waiting on the Title shot he had already earned, #2 ranked Frankie Edgar was willing to face #3 ranked Ortega in order to stay on the card.
This fight is being advertised by the UFC as a Title eliminator, where the winner will go on to face Max Holloway for the Undisputed Featherweight Championship at a later date.
