Much to the disappointment of MMA fans in India, they woke up to a bad news about UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway getting pulled out of the stacked UFC 226 Co-Main event bout against Brian Ortega. “Blessed” was hospitalized on Monday for concussion-like symptoms and released the following day. But the Hawaiian appeared to get worse, not better as time went on, so the decision was made to pull him from the bout and re-admit him to the hospital.
Although fans still wanted to watch Brian Ortega on the latest stacked card, it’s still unclear at the moment if he wants to fight a replacement, according to a renowned journalist from LA Times Lance Pugmire, UFC is trying to reschedule and shift the title fight between Holloway and Ortega to UFC 227 in Los Angeles on August 4 depending on Holloway’s health.
Told by an official close to the situation that @BlessedMMA Max Holloway @BrianTcity Brian Ortega could be shifted to the main event at Staples Center for UFC 227 Aug. 4 depending on Holloway’s health.
