UFC : Claudia Gadelha underwent a successful knee surgery

Claudia Gadelha had put herself back in the win column with a hard fought split decision victory over Carla Esparza. However after the win shehad announced that she would undergo a knee surgery to mend an injured knee.

Following her win Gadelha told MMA Fighting that she had injured her knee and thigh two weeks prior to the fight. However, due to the support of UFC Performance institute’s physiotherapist, she decided not to pull out of the fight.

She announced on Instagram that her surgery was successful and that she was thankful to her loved ones.

Though the fight between Gadelha and Esparza ended at UFC 225, the round of allegations is still going on. Esparza had accused Gadelha of cheating, saying that she had oiled herself before the fight. Gadelha ignored the remark and said that Esparza even after bringing out her best version lost to a fighter on one knee.
