Former Bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt is set to have a crack at the current champion TJ Dillashaw at UFC 227. And as part of his camp for the fight, Garbrandt is apparently training with champion boxer Mikey Garcia.
For the uninitiated, US-born Garcia is a world champion in four weight classes and holds a perfect record of 38-0 to his name.
Garbrandt revealed about the training sessions with Garcia through his Instagram story which was later picked up by a Twitter user as you can see below.

Considering the standup prowess of TJ Dillashaw, sparring with Garcia is a great move from Garbrandt and it will be interesting to see how the training pays off.
The history and the rematch
Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw first locked horns back at UFC 217. Dillashaw ended up winning the fight with a second-round TKO and handed Garbrandt the first loss of his career. Both Dillashaw and Garbrandt have not stepped into the octagon after this fight.
Dillashaw pursued a fight with UFC Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson after UFC 217 but nothing materialized. This, in turn, forced him to settle for a rematch against Garbrandt even though he has been vocal about how Garbrandt does not deserve an immediate rematch. As for Garbrandt, he has been training at various locations including Thailand for the rematch.
UFC 227 is scheduled to take place on August 4, 2018, in Los Angeles. Apart from Dillashaw vs. Garbrandt, the pay-per-view will also see Derek Brunson vs. Antonio Carlos Jr. and Bethe Correia vs. Irene Aldana.
As for Garcia, he has a fight coming up against Robert Easter Jr. on July 28 at the Staples Center. He will be defending his WBC Lightweight title at the event while the IBF Lightweight title will also be on the line.
