UFC welterweight Colby Covington is highly infamous for being a bit controversial. While many fans and pundits also consider him to be quick witted, extremely smart and also think of him as one of the best trash-talkers currently in the UFC. “Chaos” has often generated a lot of sensation by controversial interviews and also via his social media updates. The American has again posted a rather controversial yet entertaining social media post. Alexander Volkov recently shocked the world by knocking out Fabricio Werdum in the main-event of UFC Fight Night 127. Fans and pundits alike had been stating their views about the main-event and Colby too expressed his views via a tweet. With his tweet, Covington mocked and seeminlgy celebrated Werdum getting knocked out.
Covington has a MMA record of 13-1 and is currently on a five fight win streak. He is seemingly just one more victory away from a welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley. He is highly infamous and controversial. He had created a huge controversy by calling Brazilians “filthy animals” and Brazil to be a ‘dump’ in his post-fight interview after defeating Demian Maia in Brazil at UFC Fight Night 119. He has since been gaining a lot of attention even from the main-stream media for his statements.
His infamous comments about Brazil and Brazilians had led to former UFC and Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Fabricio Werdum confronting him outside a hotel in Australia. During the confrontation, the two fighters had a brawl and Werdum threw and hit Covington with a boomerang. “Chaos” Covington had later filed a police case against the Brazilian for assault. The pair have had a heated rivalry ever since.
Werdum was seemigly cruising through the headlining bout against Volkov. He was even ahead in the scorecards at the end of the third round. However, the Russian soon turned the tables and knocked out the veteran. With his bitter rival brutally getting knocked-out, Covington then took to Twitter and tweeted a “Simpsons” gif mocking and making fun of Werdum’s loss. Here’s what he tweeted:
