UFC Welterweight Colby Covington will fight for the Interim championship against Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 225. The fight was initially planned to be held in Brazil but UFC decided to move it to UFC 225 considering the chaos went down in Brooklyn ahead of UFC 223.

The whole bus attack situation involving Conor McGregor resulted in the cancellation of multiple fights from the UFC 223 card and it also saw McGregor getting arrested.

Although Covington has a habit of going out of the line every now and then, he does not want to fight on the street.

“At the end of the day, we’re professional prize fighters – stop acting like street thugs. We’re not going to fight in the streets. I get paid a lot of money to go in there and fight on pay-per-view. I’m not fighting in the street. All these guys that want to act tough and act like they’re hard in the street, that’s cool, man. I’m glad you want to act hard, and your emotions are driving crazy, but you need to get out of your feelings, nerds.” He said during his appearance on MMA Junkie Radio.

Bringing my personal security

After his last fight, Covington needed extra security to get out of the building and he is expecting something similar as he is scheduled to fight Rafael Dos Anjos. And instead of relying on UFC this time around also, Covington noted that he will bring his own personal security for the event.

“Luckily, my agent, Dan Lambert, has all the money in the world. He’s already hired a full security guard team, (and) whenever I go to events or anything related to the UFC, I will have armed security guards with me.” He said.

Covington is currently riding on a five-fight winning streak and defeated Demian Maia in his last fight.
