UFC 229 will host probably the biggest fight in the history of MMA as former featherweight and lightweight champion ‘The Notorious’ McGregor takes on current UFC lightweight champ Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov.
The stakes are as high as they can get and the mind games have begun. The rivalry between McGregor and Nurmagomedov already has a history, this time however things seem to be getting a little personal.
McGregor took to Instagram to slam not only Nurmagomedov, but his father and coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is considered as a pioneer of Russian MMA known for producing world class fighters.
McGregor tweeted, “Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, I can see you. Cowering behind fake respect. Just like your middle child. A quivering coward”. (via Instagram):

The rivalry between McGregor and Nurmagomedov was ignited back in April at UFC 223. Nurmagomedov had a heated altercation with McGregor’s training partner and friend Artem Lobov. The next day McGregor with around 30 people, stormed into Barclays Arena. McGregor threw a dolly at a bus who was carrying fighters back to the hotel after media day. The attack had lightweight Michael Chiesa and flyweight Ray Borg injured and left McGregor with various charges.
