Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier, after UFC 226, has put himself in a position that can allow him to pick his fights and go for a big payday before retirement.
However, the choices in front of Cormier aren’t very easy. On one hand he has vowed to defend his light heavyweight crown once. The MMA world expected his opponent to be the winner of Gustffson vs Oezdemir. However, DC dropped his own bombshell when he announced that he is more interested in fighting Shogun Rua.
If that wasn’t enough, the man DC put to sleep on Saturday, Stipe Miocic just took to Twiiter to ask Cormier for a rematch.
Stipe’s demeanour after the fight indicated that he thought a rematch was bound to happen. However, just to make things a little more formal, the former champ announced the same on Twitter.
Although DC replied to his tweet, but chided away from replying anything about the rematch.
My brother it was an honor to share the cage with you. I know you’ll be back better than ever champ. Head up and good luck with baby. #father #husband #hero #champ #cle https://t.co/S6WIN9uNfX

Cormier playing it safe can be understood from the fact that he has announced that he’ll only be fighting big money fights from now on.
And the drama that took place in the Octagon after the fight was enough to prove that Brock Lesnar will be DC’s next opponent at heavyweight, provided nothing unprecedented happens.
