Illinois native Curtis ‘Razor’ Blaydes with back to back victories over legends in Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem, solid wrestling base, decent striking and a strong chin at the age of only 27, is a force to be reckoned with.

In an ideal world, which this is not, Blaydes will get a title shot. However the current time frame is unfortunate for Blaydes. With light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier capturing the heavyweight title and former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returning back, Lesnar will get the nod of the UFC for the title shot.
Blaydes however has other options planned up. Speaking with MMA Fighting, Blaydes revealed his dream timeline. Blaydes has his eye on former champ Stipe Miocic first.
“The perfect next 12 months is me getting the Stipe fight in November,” Blaydes said. “Me winning. DC, he fights Brock, let’s say January. We give DC a few months, he’ll enjoy the win, then me and DC square off. I beat DC.”
However that’s not enough for Blaydes as he wishes to fight former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones next as well.
“One of my roommates brought this up because of the whole Brock Lesnar thing, he says maybe Jon Jones pops back up and then maybe me and Jon Jones square off,” he said. “Everyone is talking about the money fight — Jon Jones is the money fight. He’s legit, a true warrior, a true badass. He beat a murderer’s row at light heavyweight, a lot of greats in their prime. He beat DC twice handily. Allegations or not, I respect him and know that would be a hell of a fight.”
