After defeating Daniel Cormier at UFC 214, Jon Jones had famously gone on to call-out Brock Lesnar. However, Jones soon tested positive and was once again stripped of the belt and a potential fight between the two completely failed to materialise. UFC President Dana White has now claimed that Brock Lesnar is not only interest in competing in the UFC again, but also wants to take on Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.
White had previously claimed in the UFC 25 year anniversary press conference that the winner of the super fight between UFC light heavyweight champion Cormier and UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will face Lesnar in his octagon return in a title match. However, in the recent interview given to TMZ, White seemed unsure of Lesnar’s next opponent but did interestingly claim that the WWE Universal champion is “very interested” in fighting Jones. Here’s what he had to say:
Yeah, I know that Brock’s WWE deal is up at the end of the summer. I know he wants to fight so I’m sure we’ll end up getting that figured out.
There are a lot of options. There’s Jon Jones. Jon Jones is very interested in Brock Lesnar and Brock Lesnar is very interested in Jon Jones.
