Paulo Costa (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) is making waves in the UFC middleweight division.

Riding a four-fight wining streak all being finishes, Costa is certainly a hyped contender. He proved the hype was real last weekend when he took on former TUF product and #9 ranked Uriah Hall. Hall definitely gave Costa some adversity in the first round however in the second, Hall fell victim to the same barrage of punches and eventually got floored with an uppercut. Costa paved his way into the top 10 rankings with the biggest victory of his career.

Costa’s performance heavily impressed UFC President Dana White and that’s a good sign for anybody’s career as White expects to headline a card with Costa in near future.

“I think that that kid is the next big Brazilian star,” White said at the UFC 226 post-fight press conference. “He’s on his way. Good looking, incredible physique, and fights like an animal.”

“The guy that I thought Uriah Hall was gonna be at the end of The Ultimate Fighter was the guy that I saw fight tonight,” White said. “He fought an incredible fight tonight. He was in his face. Every time he’d get hit, he’d punch back with two or three punches, kicks. It was awesome.”

With UFC going to Sao Paulo in September, that can be a good option for Costa.
