Double champ ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor is undoubtedly the biggest superstar the sport of MMA has ever produced. McGregor quickly steam rolled the entire featherweight division, defeated long time champ José Aldo in mere 13 seconds and later on captured the lightweight belt making it all look effortless.

During his journey, many people including commentator Joe Rogan called McGregor as the Muhammad Ali of the UFC. Not only due to his aura and his methods of promoting fights, but his ability to back them up with outstanding performances.

Out of the top five highest pay-per-view events in the history of the sport, McGregor headlined in three (UFC 194, UFC 202, UFC 205). McGregor might as well add a fourth event on this list, as he takes on current lightweight champion Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in probably the biggest fight of the sport. With that being said, UFC president Dana White couldn’t be more happy as he compares McGregor will Ali as well as Tyson.

“He’s my Ali. He’s my Tyson. He burst onto the scene and I knew the minute I sat down and had dinner with him that this kid was going to be a star. I didn’t know if he’d be able to fight and I didn’t know if he’d be able to win a title, but I knew he was going to be a star.”
