Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender series season 2 will go down as an iconic moment in the history of the sport with impeccable results and interesting cast. One of them a one-armed amputee Nick ‘The Notorious’ Newell.

Newell with an impressive record of 14-1, was calling for his shot at the UFC since a very long time. He was granted it as Newell was scheduled to take on Alex Munoz. Newell displayed heart and courage but lost the bout via unanimous decision.
Newell hasn’t given up and vows to get better and earn his opportunity to fight in the UFC. President Dana White however is not too keen on the idea.
“I respect that kid very much,” White said after the recent Tuesday Night Contender Series (via MMANYTT). “Obviously that’s why I gave him an opportunity. I just always believed that the UFC was a tough place for Nick. This is a tough place with two arms and two legs. This is the real deal.”
“I put him in the Contender Series to see if he could make it to the UFC. He didn’t make it.”
