Only five fighters in the history of the UFC have held belts in two different weight classes. Apparently, two out of the five have been spending some time together.

Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion and recently inducted Hall of Famer ‘The Prodigy’ BJ Penn and current light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier catch up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

That being said, mutual respect was shared on both the sides by these champs. Cormier tweeted claiming it was his ‘honor’ to meet Penn, calling him one of the greatest of all time. (via Twitter):

Calgary hosts the recent UFC on Fox 30 headlined by a pivotal rematch between #3 ranked and former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and #4 ranked Dustin Poirier.

Cormier also works as an analyst on the Fox desk and at times as a commentator on both fight nights and pay-per-view events. Therefore, Cormier is in the city to offer his services.

Penn on the other hand was in Canada well before. Penn was in Toronto a week ago doing a BJJ camp named ‘Nova Uniao’. Penn being a BJJ Black belt and the first American to win an International BJJ competition has the resume to do so.
